Lieutenant Roberts was the first female manager from the Christopher Newport University Police Department to attend the FBINA.  During her training she was challenged with and successfully completed classes in executive leadership, managing organizational change, futuristics in law enforcement, criminal forensics, legal issues for command level officers and physical conditioning.

CNU Police Chief Jeff Brown, who graduated from the 170th Session of the FBINA, commended Lieutenant Roberts for her exceptional performance.  “I am very proud of Colleen and her achievement.  She is a very motivated individual and continues to expand her knowledge base and to raise her personal excellence in the field of law enforcement.  She is a tremendous asset to the University Police Department.”

The FBI National Academy is a professional course of study for United States and international law enforcement leaders that serves to improve the administration of justice in police departments and agencies at home and abroad and to raise law enforcement standards, knowledge and cooperation worldwide.  Its mission is to support, promote and enhance the personal and professional development of law enforcement leaders by preparing them for complex, dynamic and contemporary challenges through innovative techniques, facilitating excellence in education and research and forging partnerships throughout the world.  The National Academy has been training law enforcement executives since 1935.
