The Christopher Newport University Police Department has been informed of the following criminal activity:


The Christopher Newport University Police Department is investigating a report of an indecent exposure that occurred in a parking lot on the western edge of the campus.  The incident was reported to have occurred on January 11th at approximately 6:35 pm, as the victim was walking towards Prince Drew Road on North Moore’s Lane.  The victim observed a middle-aged white male wearing a white shirt and dark pants (possibly blue jeans) who was parked in a vehicle (unknown description) in Lot G by the baseball field.  The suspect fled the area in the vehicle in an unknown direction.   

The University Police remind all students to remember to stay safe on campus by
  • Walking on campus in a group, especially after dark
  • Requesting a police escort  
  • Letting someone know when you're leaving your destination and when you should arrive
  • Being alert of your surroundings at all times (e.g. don't wear headphones when walking or jogging)
  • Heading toward a police call box, crowds, lights or buildings if you are being followed
  • Securing all doors and notify University personnel of suspicious persons
